2012.07.03 Full Moon rising

Moon Hunting.... not really hard to find (you just have to be patient for that monthly cycle!

This day I wanted to capture the full moon rising... coming up over the ocean at Neil Street, moonlight reflections on the water in all its glory!  I wasn't disappointed by what Mother Nature had to display this day, but I also wanted to get a little more creative with the images I had taken - I had some of my own visions in mind...

Hope you enjoy... (the first four are the originals...) after that my visions follow!

2012.06.18 Monday Morning Magic mmm

Wowser.... how beautiful was it Monday morning?  Crisp, clear skies.... clean rolling waves... great to have sunlight to play with again! :)

Below are a few of the images I captured, and since my little break away from the camera I have come back more inspired to experiment with my "Sunlight Art" - Those images which involve the sunlight to be created, but are open to interpretation, as another soul mentioned on facebook only yesterday "Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures".

Hope you enjoy....

First Light from Currimundi Beach

the Bridge

Grassy silhouettes

(can't forget) Milo

I wonder what the ships views are like?

Sunlight through the Dune Grasses

hazy dreams on a golden morning

may the forces of nature be with you!

oceans of Gold

Golden ripples

liquid Gold

clear sunrise over Currimundi Beach

golden sands

when the ocean meets the sand

spots and lines (who said they don't go together)

beware the sleeping dragon...

from under the pandanus

....until tomorrow

2012.06.10 Blog Update

Now when was the last time I sent out a blog?  Have you missed me?  I must say I have been hibernating - and it is nice for a change!

Apart from a few events that have been happening of late, with the Sun sleeping in... so have I.  I find the Winter months a good time of year to catch up on the little things that tend to get neglected, to reflect on past time and events, and make improvements or changes where necessary.  It is a good time for soul cleansing and also to get in and de-clutter (house, office, wardrobe, garage...) whatever makes you feel better.

De-cluttering is a good habit to get into, as by giving away un-needed items, it makes way for you to receive.

And as for my posts, through Winter you will most likely only see my blog update Emails on a monthly basis (but you can always check my blog sporadically for any updates I may have added.

But enough of my jibber... below are a few images of what I have managed to capture in the past month, and also the the links to each event - or you can just go straight to my blog to see it all!  Some of you may have seen these updates on my facebook page (if not you can 'LIKE' my facebook page here),

Just click on the links at the to of each picture to view that blog posting.

2012.06.06 Venus transit across the Sun

The phenomenal event of Venus' transit across the Sun happened on the 6th June 2012. Witnessed by many Australians, and excitedly captured by me on my Canon EOS50D with a Tamron 200-500mm zoom lens and a welding mask!

The original pic which I will post here, is green - due to the tint through the welding mask, but I have also adjusted the image to Yellow, to more accurately represent the Sun!

You can view this link here to find out more about the transit of Venus and the live stream...

Venus' transit across the sun as witnessed from behind a Welding Mask...
The black spot on the lower left part of the Sun...  is Venus!

and altering only the colour and brightness to more resemble the Sun in its purest form!

This bright image below was taken before I found the correct setting as viewed in the image above!

And if you are interested in a more spiritual view of this event... see below written by  | Rebecca Dettman 01/06/2012

If you’re a spiritual person, you’ve probably been living under a rock if you haven’t heard about this week’s Venus Transit. No, it doesn’t represent (another) apocalypse or the coming of aliens, but it IS a fascinating energetic completion. Miss Psychette is here to walk you through the cosmic ins-and-outs.
A transit is… When a planet passes directly between the Earth and the Sun, so that it appears to be crossing the face of the Sun face, a bit like a tiny solar eclipse. The Venus Transits cycle is a rare celestial event that occur in a pattern that repeats every 243 years when Venus eclipses the Sun two times – at the beginning and at the end of eight-year periods. Hence, Venus crossed the Sun back in June 8, 2004, which purportedly brought the ‘Return of the Goddess’ (a re-awakening to the importance of ancient feminine energies, as described for the masses in The Da Vinci Code), and she’s been drawing a pentagram shape in the sky ever since (the movement and pattern that Venus traces around the ecliptic in her eight-year astronomical cycle forms a pattern that is a five-pointed star).
This week, on June 6, she makes her grand return… and won’t be repeating the trick until December11, 2117, when presumably no one today will be alive to experience it for a second time. This particular transit is extra special because Venus has been out of bounds at her furthermost Northern point (which will not happen again until 2239) between April 2-3 until June 4-5, 2012… and in this transit, Venus is actually coming back from that point, back into bounds literally only an hour before she begins her transit of the Sun.
Spiritual types think that… This Venus Transit represents an acceleration of evolution and consciousness; an opportunity for personal and global transformation. Since the 2004-2012 Venus Transit coincides with the Uranus-in-Pisces cycle, humankind’s intuitive communication abiltiies have been rapidly developing… and when Venus, the Goddess of Love, mingles her energies with the Sun, representing Light, what you get is a very profound coming together of Love and Light – woohoo! – and it’s expected that we will feel the impacts of this portal for a long time to come.
Some people believe that a doorway opened during the June 8, 2004 Venus Transit that will close on June 6, 2012, while others look to the Mayan “Long Count Calendar”, in which the Venus Transit is regarded by many as the celestial signal that the “Great Transformation of the Closing of the Cycle” has begun. Indeed, this Venus Transit is taking place right between Taurus’ horns, very near the galactic cross… the galactic edge. The ancients knew that this alignment was showing the turning of an age.
This website sums it all up brilliantly: “[Venus Transit] is the first part of the major Realignment that will take us through the 2012 portal and into the New Earth Reality beyond. And the key word is Realignment. We are all being realigned and recalibrated on the Light Body level so that we can raise our consciousness and our personal frequencies to the levels that will allow us to be comfortable and happy in the New Earth. So, what this means, in “real” terms, is that many of us are facing major challenges with regards to money, homes, relationships and work, all those very basic things in our lives in the 21st century.” Hands up who’s been grappling with big emotional challenges and changes recently! Interestingly, next week’s shift is also associated with physical aches, pains and flu-like symptoms (which myself and my little girl are both experiencing right now). FASCINATING.
In terms of love… Venus (the planet of Love and the Divine Feminine) connecting with the Sun (energies of the Divine Masculine) is going to evolve our gender politics to a whole new duality. It assist in clearing old wounds remaining on Earth that first took place long ago, as this website excellently explains: “For thousands of years, the world has been ruled by patriarchal societies. These masculine rulers have created wars, power struggles, destruction, pollution, fear, pain, separation and famine. They have shown little or no respect for feminine wisdom or our Mother Earth. The patriarchal organizations of the world have repressed most knowledge of women’s roles in world history… It is time for the pendulum to swing back towards the Divine Feminine and rest comfortably in the middle. To become whole, we need both the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine energies equally in our lives.”
The mere fact that Venus eclipses in front of the Sun symbolises our need to consider the feminine expression FIRST, before the masculine, to get us out of old habits once and for all and bring about a new level of consciousness for humanity… a new way that is no longer about competitive masculine energies, but cooperative feminine energies. In your own life? This will probably mean deeper honesty will be needed in your relationships. And Mystic Medusa‘s take? “The Transit Of Venus: A karmic love scenario is abroad in your life – it began in the last
six weeks or so and essentially you have met someone with whom you have shared a previous existence. It’s surreal, weird and meant to be.”
In terms of creativity…
Venus has been out of bounds, in the energy of boundless creativity – thinking beyond the box, dissolving our boundaries of what we think is normal. Her return means a massive charge in the creative and artistic sides of our natures, catalysing previously hidden, latent, artistic talent and creative abilities.
In terms of communication… Astrologically, Venus represents our relationships with others – and hence the ways in which we communicate. Past Venus Transits have seen major shifts in world communications, such as 1761 (a collaboration of astronomers at 77 observation points from all over the world to determine the distance from Earth to the Sun) and 1874 (completion of the Transatlantic Telegraph Cable that created the first intercontinental communications by wire between the East and the West). This time around, we’ve already had a booming Information Technology Revolution (thanks, Steve Jobs)… the question is, how can we use all our increased communication opportunities for better, higher, more spiritually enlightened results?
Don’t forget… This week’s Venus Transit is preceded by an AWESOME Full Moon/Partial Lunar Eclipse Sun in Gemini 14º and SuperMoon in Sagittarius 14º Monday, June 4… helping to release your past and embrace your light!

2012.06.04 Partial Lunar Eclipse

A Partial Lunar Eclipse occurred on 4th June 2012.

In a sort of celestial warmup, the full moon will dive through Earth's shadow on Monday evening across Australian skies to produce a partial lunar eclipse that will be visible to observers throughout parts of North America, Asia and the Pacific region, weather permitting.

The full moon of June is known as the Strawberry Moon because it occurs during the short strawberry-harvesting season this month.

Here are my captures of the Strawberry's Moon partial Lunar Eclipse, taken with my Canon EOS50D and Tamron 200-500mm zoom lens...

You can view this interesting little video about this event here by Science @ NASA.

2012.05.29 Toowoomba Sunrise

The last leg of our road trip, Goondiwindi to Brisbane (I wanted to drop in to the hospital in Brisbane to visit my father), then the home stretch to the Sunshine Coast!

We were up around 4.30am to hit the road... to early for Macca's, so the roadhouse was the brekky & fuel stop.  Toasted Bacon & Egg sandwiches for the boys, Muffin & cuppa for mum.

I have always found that sunrise moment when the light suddenly brightens the earth is always the hardest to adapt to when driving, ie... you feel OK whilst it is still dark then the moment that light hits, you start getting real weary... Unfortunately this was how Jeff was feeling, so then I had to drive and work out how I would also capture that Sunrise ahead???

This shot was captured at first light

Then into the drivers seat... so this is the drivers perspective of fog ahead across the road...

Then capturing the glowing balls first presence through the trees...

where is the road ahead?  I can't use the view finder (whilst driving) so just taking a punt on my direction..

My last capture, as the sun is now too bright, the skies are clear and I have a few hour drive ahead of me.

Coming into Toowoomba I was 'oohing' & 'ahhhing' at possible photo captures I was missing ... so the boys stepped in and had a play...

Cody captured this truck and street light silhouette...

Alex took over with these soft flags billowing in the soft sunlight..

Then Cody took the reins again to capture this 'on the move' moment...

and lastly heading down the range, with the bright sunlight through the trees.

Then homeward bound...
