2012.06.18 Monday Morning Magic mmm

Wowser.... how beautiful was it Monday morning?  Crisp, clear skies.... clean rolling waves... great to have sunlight to play with again! :)

Below are a few of the images I captured, and since my little break away from the camera I have come back more inspired to experiment with my "Sunlight Art" - Those images which involve the sunlight to be created, but are open to interpretation, as another soul mentioned on facebook only yesterday "Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures".

Hope you enjoy....

First Light from Currimundi Beach

the Bridge

Grassy silhouettes

(can't forget) Milo

I wonder what the ships views are like?

Sunlight through the Dune Grasses

hazy dreams on a golden morning

may the forces of nature be with you!

oceans of Gold

Golden ripples

liquid Gold

clear sunrise over Currimundi Beach

golden sands

when the ocean meets the sand

spots and lines (who said they don't go together)

beware the sleeping dragon...

from under the pandanus

....until tomorrow

2012.05.29 Toowoomba Sunrise

The last leg of our road trip, Goondiwindi to Brisbane (I wanted to drop in to the hospital in Brisbane to visit my father), then the home stretch to the Sunshine Coast!

We were up around 4.30am to hit the road... to early for Macca's, so the roadhouse was the brekky & fuel stop.  Toasted Bacon & Egg sandwiches for the boys, Muffin & cuppa for mum.

I have always found that sunrise moment when the light suddenly brightens the earth is always the hardest to adapt to when driving, ie... you feel OK whilst it is still dark then the moment that light hits, you start getting real weary... Unfortunately this was how Jeff was feeling, so then I had to drive and work out how I would also capture that Sunrise ahead???

This shot was captured at first light

Then into the drivers seat... so this is the drivers perspective of fog ahead across the road...

Then capturing the glowing balls first presence through the trees...

where is the road ahead?  I can't use the view finder (whilst driving) so just taking a punt on my direction..

My last capture, as the sun is now too bright, the skies are clear and I have a few hour drive ahead of me.

Coming into Toowoomba I was 'oohing' & 'ahhhing' at possible photo captures I was missing ... so the boys stepped in and had a play...

Cody captured this truck and street light silhouette...

Alex took over with these soft flags billowing in the soft sunlight..

Then Cody took the reins again to capture this 'on the move' moment...

and lastly heading down the range, with the bright sunlight through the trees.

Then homeward bound...

2012.05.06 Sunday Sunrise

2012.05.06 - it is Sunday, the sun is rising and will keep on shining according to the forecast, it's a long weekend (in QLD), people are surfing, camping and just enjoying life!! :)

I'm off to catch that sunrise and soak in its energy (seeing as it has been raining most mornings last week), and find out where the WindanSea Boardriders comp will be.

Enjoy...

2012.04.01 In memory of Matt Barclay

On this morning, Sunday 1st April 2012, a memorial service was held both at Kirra Beach and also at Maroochydore Beach to honour Matt's parents and his memory...

Again as I followed the Sun (this time to Maroochydore) ... I pondered Life, Death and everything in-between, and settled a few uncertainties within my own beliefs.  In essence, and as Matt's parents have stated, "Life is short ~ Live it wide"!

Below are some images of the mornings Sunrise and the Beach Walk to honour Matt's life... and also some of my memories frozen in time of Matty.

Enjoy...

The circle of life is a mystery
and without warning it creates history
May strength be gained from any pain endured
to treasure our lives for eternity.

The beach memorial walk from Alex SLSC to M'Dore SLSC...
To walk the beach barefoot and hand in hand
To write Matt's name in the sand

As Matt's Age Manager for a couple of years through the Dicky Beach Surf Club, and then as club photographer I had plenty of moments of Matty frozen in time, never thinking they would be put together for a moment like this.
