2012.07.03 Full Moon rising

Moon Hunting.... not really hard to find (you just have to be patient for that monthly cycle!

This day I wanted to capture the full moon rising... coming up over the ocean at Neil Street, moonlight reflections on the water in all its glory!  I wasn't disappointed by what Mother Nature had to display this day, but I also wanted to get a little more creative with the images I had taken - I had some of my own visions in mind...

Hope you enjoy... (the first four are the originals...) after that my visions follow!

This is how I would love the Full Moon to look .. rising up over the ocean

2012.05.06 Supermoon rise over Currimundi Lake

2012.05.06 - On Saturday (May 5) at 11:35 p.m. EDT, the moon will officially turn full. And only 25 minutes later the moon will also arrive at perigee, its closest approach to Earth — a distance of 221,802 miles (356,955 kilometers) away.  The effect of this coincidence is a stunning skywatching sight called the "supermoon."

In fact, this month's perigee is the closest of any perigee in 2012 (they vary by about 3 percent, because the moon's orbit is not perfectly circular). The result will be a 16 percent brighter-than-average full moonaccompanied by unusually high and low tides this weekend and into the new week.
I ventured out this evening to catch the sunset and the rise of this Supermoon from the Currimundi bridge overlooking Currimundi Lake...
These were my sights...
Magic hour over Currimundi Lake
(that time when the sun in below the horizon but it is not yet dark)

The Supermoon above the treeline

My 'long exposure' attempt - post processing blew out the moon,
but I liked the pretty flower shape :)

'Long exposure' when the camera shutter stays open an blurs movement -
great to capture moving lights like traffic.

2012.03.08 Full Moon

Oohh, I remembered it was a full moon (late tonight) and couldn't resist bringing out the little cams to have a play...

This image I took on my iPhone 3Gs, so the quality is extremely poor (especially when I zoomed in), but I had in my minds eye what I wanted to capture regardless of how it was going to turn out!!

I then applied it to my 'Water my Photo' app where it allows you to crop the image, then it creates a mirror image with a moving water effect (which plays on the iPone)...

cheap, nasty.. but fun all the same!!

Enjoy!
