2012.03.29 a sad sunrise from Currimundi Beach

Thursday 29th March 2012..... shattering news was heard y'day afternoon, Wed 28th March as a young 14yo Surf Life Saver was feared drowned off Kirra Beach whilst competing at the Aussie titles.  We heard it was Matt Barclay.  A myriad of emotions flowed, as we tried to comprehend this news... the devastation for his family and friends, as their lives will never be the same.

So I headed to the beach on Thursday morning to follow the sun, with young Matty and his family on my mind and in my heart, praying that he would be found.

Pondering... Parents are supposed to watch their children grow up & be successful in whatever they chose, enjoy their own families - and then look after us when we are frail, knowing we have all lived full & enriched lives. No words will ever help ease the pain, every corner you turn there is a reminder of what they could have been doing. There is always the 'bigger picture' but sometimes life can just be downright cruel :(
