2012.03.26 Sunset over Moffat Beach

As I watched the sun go down tonight... it inspired this little ditty...

As I stood and watched the sun go down
I thought about the days I frown
Then watching the beauty fall over this land
I realise it is all part of the plan
For if one does not experience the sad...
Then how does one know when they are glad!

enjoy...

2012.03.25 Sunday's SC Daily

What an AWESOME pleasure to a) have been asked to run a feature on my work, b) to have it published in Sunday's local paper  and c) to make Front Page news!!! My parents and family are so proud right now :)  and so am I of course...

All I wish to do, is be able to add a little sunshine to people's lives, a calming healing vibe, a bright shining light, that shimmering reminder that there will be sunshine and happy days again... especially right now when there is so much devastation locally with the flash floods, and plenty of dark, foreboding weather! It's almost enough to start an epidemic of the SADS!

But if you didn't manage to get today's paper, I have attached the images here.... and you can even learn a little more about me!

Also.. here is today's 'sun-rays' which I was lucky enough to capture on my ride home from the beach this morning... seeing as the 'rise' was cloaked by the clouds.

2012.03.21 Sunrise over Currimundi Beach

Still waiting for that break in the sky, at 5:15am I could see a little streak of light in the sky from home so thought I'd try my luck... Milo (the dog) was extremely happy with my decision!

The sky had a few rips in its grey blanket which let a moment of light into the morning for me to complete my sunrise ritual, then I decided to just have a bit of a play with whatever else caught my eye...

Once the sun passed through its first magic moment there wasn't a lot of colour in the skies, so I processed these few  in some different shades of black and white...

My favourite Pandanus tree on Currimundi Beach..... still hanging on by its toes!

Last shot in magic hour.. I loved this one as the rays were like a guiding beacon for the ship!

Hope you enjoyed this moment of sunshine...

2012.03.12 Snapper Snaps

The getaway... so it was Monday and the forecast for the week was basically wet, wet, wet.  Well for the most of it, it was overcast with threatening rain clouds, a shower every now and then, the wettest day being Thursday... so this was about the closest I got to seeing the sun - a good start to a restful holiday to capture the last of the sun, and then enjoy the rain (well, rainy day activities with the family like ten pin bowling, movies, watching the boys surf etc).

So before I hung up my camera for the week, here were a few snaps taken from Snapper Rocks of a couple of the locals, and all that I was going to get of the Sunset...

Enjoy...

A couple of locals surfin' Snapper... can you share a wave???

 longboarder enjoying the ride..

I just liked this surfboard... so pink and girly! :)

 She tried to shine through...

a bit of mixed colour in the sky and on the sand...

 Beam me up Scotty!

 The last sunlight...

So I hope you all enjoyed your past week as much as I did!

My thoughts go out to those who have not fared so well with recent floods etc, and impending weather systems...

Cheers for now... have a great week, until the next sunrise!
